BELLEVILLE, IL
The St. Clair County Seat, Belleville is one of the largest St. Louis sister cities. Well known for its German heritage, Belleville is also home to the National Shrine of Our
Lady of the Snows, the nation's largest outdoor shrine. The city is home to the state's largest historic district, more than 700 residential and commercial structures from the mid 1800s.
Belleville is also well known for Cathedral of St. Peter. This 1852 Gothic Revival cathedral was modeled after the cathedral of Exeter in England and is truly a modern day
marvel. Although the city boasts much history, it is also a growing modern city fueled by business and residential communities. The city currently has three high schools, Belleville
East and Althoff Catholic, which have a long tradition of excellent education and community service. This medium size town has the touch of small town living.
